The programme offers disabled people, free training and qualifications and a work placement, where students gain experience and work to engage more disabled people in the local community to get physically active. The placement is a compulsory part of the programme and candidates must be available for all training and placement dates.

Successful candidates will gain Swim England Level 1 Swimming Assistant (Teaching) Qualification and Swim England Level 2 Teaching Swimming Qualification (formerly known as ASA Awards).

Work placements will be undertaken after both phases of training. All placements will be at Aspire Leisure Centre, however placements at other locations will be considered. Qualification certificates are withheld until the placements and community engagement tasks have been completed.
